Spiritual Vitamin: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility, consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4)
Challenge: How are you motivated by selfish ambition or vain conceit? Much of what we do is not out of love for others, but out of our own desire to promote ourselves. When we put away our own selfish ambitions, we will naturally have a greater concern for others. Read Philippians 2: 5-11 to get a picture of Jesus' humility.
Prayer: Dear God, It is my desire to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. With your humility of heart, help me value others above myself. Lord, I can only do this with your help. I look to your example of humility in Philippians 2:5-11. Thank you, Jesus, for living this verse out while on earth. May I imitate You. Amen.
